You may have thought that the dust had settled around true wireless earbuds after the IFA whirlwind, but Master & Dynamic unveiled its MW70 True Wireless Earphones. These are available in grey terazzo, tortoise shell, steel blue, and matte black.

Regardless of which design your eyes and ears are drawn to, Master & Dynamic includes a stainless steel charging case. This provides 10.5 hours of playback to the MW07, which already feature a standalone battery life of 3.5 hours. For many of us, 14 hours of playback can cover a week’s worth of commuting. If you forget to charge them, it takes just 15 minutes to charge the case to 50 percent.

Here’s a closer look at the Master & Dynamic MW07 specs:

  • IPX4 water-resistance
  • 14-hour playback with charging case (USB-C)
  • Handcrafted acetate exterior with stainless steel buttons and enclosure
  • Optical sensors detect earbud placement for auto-play/pause
  • Earbuds require 1.5 hours for full charge cycle
  • Bluetooth 4.2

Another great feature for travelers are the built-in optical sensors. These detect each earbud’s placement and allow them to auto-pause or play when they’re removed or inserted into the ears. The next time the train conductor asks for your ticket, just remove an earbud without worrying about skipping a beat of your favorite podcast.

Seeing as the headphone jack has one foot out the door, it only makes sense that truly wireless earbuds are becoming evermore ubiquitous. Fortunately, the technology has advanced and the builds have slimmed down. The earbuds in question sport a streamlined design that sits more flush with the ear than something like the Bose SoundSport Free.

However like the SoundSport Free and other sportier earbuds, the MW07 True Wireless provide detachable wing and ear tips for a more secure customized fit.
