This week in Android: Wear OS update, Epic’s Fortnite launch was less than epic, and more

Google is finally giving a facelift to Wear OS, with a focus on fitness and getting you the information you need when you need it.

When Fortnite launched for Android last week, it did so with its own launcher rather than the Play Store route. Unfortunately, the launcher has a bug in the form of a rather large security hole. We have all the details. Plus, take a stroll through visions of mobile technology of the future from our own past in TV and film. What did the bright minds of Hollywood think abut tech of the future, and how close are we today?

It’s also IFA 2018 week, and as expected we have a whole pack of devices coming out of Berlin. First, there’s the BlackBerry Key2 LE, the budget-friendly version of the keyboard phone we all know and love. The ZTE Axon 9 Pro is ZTE’s bid to get back into the smartphone game, and the HTC U12 Life is a confusing phone for a variety of reasons.
