Already know everything about the Pixel 3? Google thinks you don’t

Pixel 3 XL hands on

  • Google has teased a major Pixel 3 announcement.
  • While it seems like we already know everything about the device, could Google have a surprise in store?
  • We will find out for sure when Google unveils the Pixel 3 later today.

Google has released a video teasing a surprise Google Pixel 3 announcement. This comes just hours before the company will unveil its new lineup of phones.

In the video, released on the Made by Google Twitter account, Google has edited together clips of reviewers saying they already know pretty much everything about the device. However, the tweet accompanying the video suggests that this may not be the case.

Anyone with even a passing interest in the Google Pixel 3 is sure to know by now that the phone has been leaked a lot. The first unboxing video was unveiled back in August and since then we have seen everything from a hands-on video to the phone’s new live wallpapers. We have even had a proper look at the Google Pixel 3 XL ourselves.

While it seems there isn’t much we don’t already know about the phone, Google appears confident that it still has something in store to surprise those waiting for the Pixel 3.

It seems like there are two options that could explain the post.

The first is that Google genuinely has a big announcement that it has managed to keep hidden. Whether this is a previously unseen phone (unlikely) or simply a cool new feature, there is a chance that the company has kept something about the phone a secret.

The second option is that Google is simply using the tweets to increase excitement about the launch. While this may be a good move when it comes to getting people to watch the live stream, it could potentially leave those excited about a big announcement feeling disappointed.

We certainly hope it is the first option. Of course, we will only know for sure when Google officially announces the phone later today.
