Huawei Watch GT leaks: Could be an inexpensive, long-lasting smartwatch

  • A new smartwatch called the Huawei Watch GT just leaked.
  • It appears the Huawei Watch GT will be powered by Waer OS, inexpensive, and feature an exceptionally long battery life.
  • It is possible that it will be powered by the latest Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset.

The Huawei Watch 2 is one of the highest-rated smartwatches on the market. Even today the watch is still a popular seller, despite it being over a year old.

However, it looks like Huawei is keen to issue a new smartwatch as a new product called the Huawei Watch GT just leaked via WinFuture. So far, we only have one photo and a lot of speculation, but it seems possible the Huawei Watch GT will be a popular choice for smartwatch shoppers this holiday season.

According to WinFuture, the Huawei Watch GT will have two variants: a Classic (or possibly Fashion) model, and a Sport model. The variants will both likely have the same internal specs but different bands and color schemes.

Below, you can see what is likely the Huawei Watch GT Classic or Fashion model:

Specs are a bit of a mystery for right now, but WinFuture speculates that the smartwatch will have 4GB of internal storage, a 1.39-inch AMOLED touchscreen, GPS, NFC, and water resistance. It is also speculated that the Huawei Watch GT will have a fairly large 420mAh battery.

Although nothing is known for certain yet, Huawei is apparently going to tout the very long battery life of the Watch GT. From what WinFuture speculates, it is possible that the Watch GT will be powered by the brand new Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset. If true, the watch would likely feature Wear OS 2.1 and would also be one of the first devices to hit the market with the newest chipset.

Huawei is also likely going to price the Watch GT aggressively, although pricing is not yet known.

The Huawei Watch GT will likely launch along with the Huawei Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, and other hardware the company is expected to reveal on October 16.
