It’s official: OnePlus will launch the OnePlus 6T on October 30
- OnePlus has confirmed it will launch the OnePlus 6T on October 30 in New York.
- The phone is tipped to launch in the U.S. with T-Mobile; the first time a phone from the company has had a carrier partner in the U.S.
OnePlus has announced it will launch the OnePlus 6T in New York on October 30 via an official announcement on its website. The reveal will land around two weeks earlier than that of the OnePlus 5T, which arrived on November 16, 2017.
The event is set to take place at 11AM ET at Pier 36 NYC and it will be open to fans. OnePlus is selling early-bird tickets for $20 until October 10 when the price will rise to $30. Visit the website for the full Terms and Conditions.
We already know some details about the phone as OnePlus has confirmed it will have an in-display fingerprint scanner. It is also expected to get a Snapdragon 845 processor, run the Android Pie-based version of OxygenOS out of the box, and have a 3,700mAh battery. There are still no official images of the front of the phone, but it is likely to have a much smaller notch than the one found on the OnePlus 6.
It is also thought that OnePlus will release the OnePlus6T in partnership with T-mobile. If true, this would be the first time it has entered the U.S. market with support from a carrier. As usual, you will almost certainly also be able to buy the phone unlocked, straight from the manufacturer.
It’s not all good news, though, as the company has said its upcoming phone will not have a headphone jack. It will come with a USB-C to 3,5mm adapter, however, so you’ll still be able to use an older set of headphones.
By launching its phone on October 30, OnePlus is set to have the final say in what is shaping up to be a massive month for Android. Hopefully, it will be worth the wait.
