New true wireless earbuds are the AirPods of Android?
- RHA announces true wireless earbuds called the TrueConnect.
- It’s available for pre-order now and will be available for sale on October 18, for $169.95.
- The Bluetooth 5.0 earbuds are IPX5-certified and feature a 5-hour standalone battery life.
Glasgow-based RHA unveiled its debut true wireless earphones: the TrueConnect. The included earbuds feature a stem design much like the ubiquitous Apple AirPods. Unlike the AirPods, however, the TrueConnect operates via Bluetooth 5.0 and is water-resistant with an IPX5 rating to show for it.
The company’s explanation for the stem design is rooted in improved call quality; said stems house integrated antennae and facilitate closer positioning of the microphone. Rather than cramming all of the internals into a small space, the extension allows for the earbuds to fit flush against the ear, rather than protruding outward like the markedly cheaper JLab JBuds Air.
RHA combats the true wireless earbud reputation of poor battery life by supplying the TrueConnect earbuds a standalone 5 hours of playback, with the charging case adding another 20 hours.
The TrueConnect is available for pre-order now from $169.95 and will be available for purchase on October 18.
