Panasonic jumps into the mid-range flagship segment in India, and launches Eluga X1, X1 Pro
Panasonic got into its annual ritual of doing a big bang launch before the festive season in India – it happens each year as people are reminded Panasonic makes smartphones, and then it goes under the radar through the year.
This time around, Panasonic has upped its game and ventured into the mid-range flagship segment by launching the Panasonic Eluga X1 and Eluga X1 Pro.
Well-rounded specifications
Both the smartphones – Eluga X1 and Eluga X1 Pro – are powered by the same internals. There’s MediaTek Helio P60 processor with 4GB and 6GB of RAM respectively and 64GB and 128GB of internal storage. The devices sport a 6.18-inch Full HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio with a notch on top.
When it comes to cameras, there’s 16MP + 5MP dual camera setup at the back and a 16MP front camera. The camera app includes a bunch of AI features as is the trend these days.
There’s also Infra-Red Face Unlock feature that uses 256 facial dot recognition points to unlock your smartphone, along with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Note that the Panasonic Eluga X1 Pro does not include a 3.5mm audio jack.

The Panasonic Eluga X1 and X1 Pro run Android 8.1 Oreo and include ARBO Hub, an AI-powered hub from Panasonic which provides its users access to multiple apps and services on a single platform.
The company claims that the platform is powered by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and learns the user preferences and makes recommendations based on areas of interest. Panasonic has already partnered with Accuweather, Uber, Ola, Newspoint, Mobikwik, and Gamezop and the list is constantly expanding to a much larger gamut of services.
