Supercell has finally announced the location of the 2018 Clash Royale League World Finals, where the top teams from the CRL will compete for $1 million in prizes. The event kicks off in Tokyo’s Makuhari Messe on December 1 at 10 AM JST.

What is the Clash Royale League?

The Clash Royale League (CRL) is a competitive league for Clash Royale players spread across 5 regions: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and China. With the world of esports growing rapidly, the CRL is Supercell’s effort to get a piece of the pie.

The Clash Royale League kicked off with an in-game event called the CRL Challenge in March 2018. All players who managed to snag 20 wins (and were over the age of 16) were eligible to be recruited by one of the 40 teams spread across the globe. When all was said and done, nearly 7,000 players qualified.

Each team features 3-6 players who face off against other teams each week in 1v1, 2v2, and king of the hill style matches. Games are broadcast on several platforms online, and previous matches can be watched on the official CRL YouTube channel.

Prior to the CRL, Supercell organized several other Clash Royale tournaments, with prizes as high as $150,000. The inaugural season of the Clash Royale League offers a much juicier prize pool of nearly $1 million.

The exact format of the competition is yet to be announced, but if it’s anything like the weekly matches there should be plenty of variety. Expect great Clash Royale deck choices and high level strategies from the world’s top players.

Tickets went on sale shortly after the announcement, but sold out less than 24 hours later. Those who were lucky enough to snag tickets will go home with a swag bag containing a limited edition Princess figure.

For the rest of us, the entire event will also be live streamed on several platforms and in many languages so anyone can enjoy the action.
