Best high-end LG phone: LG G7 ThinQ
The LG G7 ThinQ is the latest flagship phone from LG. It’s not only the successor to the LG G6 but its the first phone that uses the company’s new ThinQ brand. It includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor and – in the United States – 4GB of RAM with 64GB of storage. In other markets, the G7 will rock 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. It has a big 6.1-inch LCD display, with a notch that can be concealed using a software feature. It’s also very bright, with support for up to 1000 nits, which means you should have no problems using the G7 ThinQ in direct sunlight.
The phone only has one speaker, but it has a feature called Boombox that lets the inner space of the phone acts as an acoustic chamber. That still allows the LG G7 ThinQ to have a very loud native audio sound. It also has two noise-cancelling microphones and a technology called “Voice Resilient Voice Recognition”. This allows the the G7 ThinQ to pick up voice commands even in noisier environments and from up to 16 feet away. That’s helpful if you want to use the Google Assistant digital helper, which has its own dedicate hardware button on the side. It includes two rear 16MP cameras, including one with a wife angle lense, and one 8MP front camera. Both front and rear cameras support portrait mode. One problem with the G7 ThinQ is that it has a 3,000mAH battery, which is smaller than the one found on the G6.

LG V30-V35 ThinQ
LG has five different V30-V35 ThinQ models to choose from. All of them have the same design, with a 6-inch, 18:9 display with a resolution of 2,880 x 1,440, and the same 3,300mAh battery. The differences are in the processor, storage, memory and cameras.
The standard V30 has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage, while the V30 Plus increases the storage to 128GB. Both have same 16MP and 13MP rear cameras, and the same 5MP front camera. The V30S has 6GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The new V35 ThinQ has the Snapdragon 845 chip, 6GB of RAM, and 64GB of storage, while the V35 Plus boosts the storage to 128GB. Both have twin 16MP rear cameras and an 8MP front camera.

LG G6
The G6 is currently one of the kings of the LG phones lineup. You get a beautiful metal and glass construction, an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, wireless charging (in the U.S. version only) and fast-charging capabilities, an excellent dual-camera setup, and gorgeous display with a unique 18:9 aspect ratio, rounded corners, and incredibly thin bezels along its sides. There is certainly some tough competition out there, but the LG G6 certainly holds its own in most departments, and is priced a touch more reasonably as well. It’s still one of the best LG phones you can buy.
Best mid-range phone: LG Q6
The LG Q6 is basically a smaller and cheaper version of one of the higher end LG G6. Like that phone, the LG Q6 also has a FullVision display, with a screen ratio of 18:9, which should make it great for watching videos. The display itself measures 5.5 inches and has a resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 with a pixel density of 442 ppi. The phone also has rounded corners on both the screen and the body, which is made of tough 7,000 series aluminum. The display also has a minimal amount of bezels.
Inside, the LG Q6 has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, and comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box. It has 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of onboard storage, along with a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP wide angle front-facing camera. That camera also supports facial recognition, in case you want an alternative method to unlock the phone. It also comes with a 3,000 mAh battery. Owners can expect to see LG’s own LG UX 6.0 on top of the standard Android UI. The phone will be available in several colors, including astro black, ice platinum, mystic white, and terra gold.
In addition to the standard LG Q6, the company is offering two variants, both of which share its dimensions and nearly all of its hardware and software specs. The only differences are in RAM and storage numbers. The LG Q6a cuts those specs down to 2 GB of RAM and just 16 GB of storage, while the LG Q6 Plus (Q6+) boosts those numbers to 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The LG Q6 recently launched in India for the price of INR 14,990 ($235). The LG Q6 is now available on Amazon in the U.S., as part of its Prime members program, for $230.

Honorable mention: LG X Mach
There isn’t much in the way of real mid-ranger LG phones, except for the LG X Mach. This is a solid phone on paper, but is essentially a re-dressed LG G4. A lot of the specifications are the same, with the X Mach also featuring a 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with a Quad HD resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor backed by 3 GB of RAM, and a 3,000 mAh battery. There are some borrowed design elements as well, like the rear button layout. The X Mach is only available officially in a handful of European markets, making the LG G4 much easier to get.

Best cheap LG phones: LG Stylo 3 series
When it comes to LG phones, the Stylo 3 certainly sticks out. The LG Stylo 3 is the way to go if you the like the availability of a stylus with your smartphone but don’t want to pay the premium that the Galaxy Note series demands. The Stylo 3 is a great alternative that is very affordable, and while the stylus may not be as packed with features as the S-Pen, it still proves to be very handy. Depending on your market, or the network carrier, there are a few different versions of the LG Stylo 3 available.
All versions of these LG phones in the U.S. are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor, and feature a MediaTek processor in some other markets, and all of them come with 5.7-inch displays. The Stylo 3 that is available from Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile features an HD display, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of built-in storage that is further expandable, and a 3,200 mAh battery.
The T-Mobile version, called the Stylo 3 Plus, also comes with 2 GB of RAM, but has 32 GB of built-in storage and a Full HD display, but a smaller 3,080 mAh battery. Finally, the international version, also called the Stylus 3, retains the same specs as the regular version, but comes with 3 GB of RAM instead.
Despite the differences in specs, what stays the same is the affordability of the device. It is available from Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile for just $150, while the Stylo 3 Plus from T-Mobile will set you back $225. It’s a unique part of the LG phones family.

The K20 V is an affordable LG phone that is exclusive to Verizon Wireless. The LG Fortune is also available from AT&T with the moniker Phoenix 3, but that is a surprisingly expensive $79.99 which isn’t worth it.
- LG K8 2017 / Aristo – The K8 2017 (available from US Cellular), also known as the Aristo (available from MetroPCS and T-Mobile), features a 5-inch display with a 1,280 x 720 resolution, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 1.5 GB of RAM, 16 GB of built-in storage, a 13 MP rear camera and 5 MP front-facing shooter, a 2,500 mAh battery, and runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. You’ll find the handset for around $50 from both carriers.
