Deal: Get a Huawei Mate 20 Pro in the US for $950 (There are some caveats)

Huawei fans here in the United States were no doubt disappointed when the company revealed it would not release its Mate 20 series in the U.S. Although that is still the case and likely not going to change, there are some ways around the problem — assuming you’re OK dealing with some caveats.

Editor's Pick

Right now, highly-rated seller “sobeonline1” is selling the Huawei Mate 20 Pro for only $950, and it will ship to the United States. In fact, the device itself is shipping from Miami, so you won’t even have to wait a long time for it to come from an international location.

Before you rush off to buy, there are some notable caveats here. Check them out below:

  • This phone is designed to work globally on GSM networks. As such, it will not fully work on CDMA networks, which includes Verizon, Sprint, and their MVNOs.
  • Since the device is not designed to work in the U.S., there is no U.S. warranty from Huawei. eBay allows you to buy third-party protections plans if you need to.
  • As of now, the only color available is green (shown above).

If you can handle those three drawbacks, this is an awesome deal. The Huawei Mate 20 Pro’s retail price abroad is 1,049 euros (~$1,187), so this is actually a bargain, saving you hundreds of dollars.
