Deal: The LG Watch W7 is already almost half its original price

Even though LG announced the Watch W7 just over a month ago, Best Buy now offers the quirky smartwatch for almost half the original price. That brings the Watch W7 down from $449.99 to $249.99.

In some ways, the Watch W7 is an engineering feat. The smartwatch features two mechanical hands that allow it to work for up to 100 days in watch-only mode. Even when the smartwatch dies while in smart mode, the mechanical hands will continue to work for two to three additional days.

Even with an actual gearbox packed inside, the Watch W7 still features a 240mAh battery that somehow fits alongside the numerous other components. The moving parts continue up front, where the 1.2-inch touchscreen display is surrounded by a rotatable watch crown and three physical buttons.

Unfortunately, all of those moving parts mean that the Watch W7 is a bulky and heavy smartwatch that features the old Snapdragon Wear 2100 platform. The Watch W7 also omits a heart rate sensor, LTE, GPS, and NFC.

That is why the original $449.99 asking price felt like a slap in the face, since you would basically be paying for the effort it took to include mechanical hands. That said, the new $249.99 is a more palatable price point for this Wear OS smartwatch.
