Honeywell Lyric T5 Plus Thermostat
The Lyric T5 Plus is a new version of the standard Honeywell Lyric T5 device. Using its smartphone app, owners can program the thermostat to control the heating or cooling of a home up to seven days in advance. It can even use your phone for geofencing technology. In other words, if you are away from home, the Lyric T5 Plus will notice and adjust the temperature accordingly to save money. If it senses you getting closer, via your phone’s location, it automatically starts adjusting the temperature so when you arrive, the home is at just the right level of comfort.
The Lyric T5 Plus is compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple HomeKit so you can use voice commands to make changes to the temperature. Lux Kono
This thrifty smart thermostat works with several voice platforms. It’s easy to install, compatible with Apple Homekit, and also has a convenient, easy-to-use app.
Unfortunately, the Lux Kono doesn’t integrate with other smart home devices. That’s not a great feature, but then again, it only costs $85 on Amazon, which may be a good enough deal to make it worth it.
Elgato Eve Degree
For $60, the Elgato Eve Degree is about as cheap as it gets, making it one of the best smart thermostats on a budget.
Having said that, expect to get what you pay for. It tracks temperature, humidity, and air pressure, and it’s compatible with HomeKit, but it doesn’t do too much else.
