Honor 8A looks like a budget iPhone 6 with a notch
Chinese communications commission TENAA has published the specs and images of what is believed to be the Honor 8A (via GizMochina). The handset includes what looks like a brushed metal body and a single, slightly raised rear camera — reminiscent of the iPhone 6 — though it also may include a display notch.
The A-series is Honor’s budget line: the Honor 7A arrived in India last April for ~$130 and the Honor 8A will likely be a another low-cost affair. According to TENAA, it will arrive with an 18:9, 1560 × 720 (HD+) display at 6.1-inches, an unspecified 2.3GHz octa-core chipset, 3GB RAM, and 32GB or 64GB storage (with microSD card support up to 512GB).

The front camera is tipped for 8MP — which is pretty standard at the low-end these days — while the single rear camera would come in at 13MP. Knowing Honor, these may be backed by some AI features too.
Rounding off the specs we know about is a 2,920mAh battery, while the handset is said to be running Android 9.0 Pie as one would expect.
We don’t know when the Honor 8A will be released but, given that it’s already on TENAA, it will probably be before its 12-month release cycle comes around. Honor faces mammoth competition in the low-end in China and India, but in the European market with fewer quality handsets at these price points, the Honor 8A could be another solid budget option.
