House of Marley Google Assistant speaker reduces, reuses, and recycles
House of Marley, an audio company recognized for its direct ties to Bob Marley and kin, focuses on sustainability. It kicked off CES 2019 with a wide array of environmentally friendly products. The company’s focus on wireless follows its competitors, only reaffirming the mobile audio transition to wireless listening.
Get Together Mini with Google Assistant
House of Marley The Get Together Mini with Google Assistant smart speaker is capable of multi-room playback via Google Cast.
This is House of Marley’s debut smart speaker. Like the company’s other Connected Together speakers, this is made of bamboo, recycled aluminum, and organic cotton- and hemp-based fabric. Listeners can give hands-free commands thanks to the Google Assistant integration, which also lets them employ Google Cast for multi-room playback. As with other smart speakers from companies like Sonos and Google, the Get Together Mini smart speaker is Wi-Fi enabled. It can also double as a portable power bank to charge a smartphone.
The Get Together Mini with Google Assistant will be available in August for $199.99.
On-the-go listening
While House of Marley made a point to lead its CES unveiling with its smart speaker, the company has a slew of portable wireless earbuds and headphones it introduced, too.
Liberate Air true wireless

The Liberate Air IPX4 true wireless earbuds are made from bamboo, natural wood fiber, and the same recycled PET fabric as the House of Marley smart speaker. The company claims the earbuds have a standalone battery life of seven hours which is bold for truly wireless tech. They also operate via Bluetooth 5.0 and include onboard playback controls. There’s no word yet on high-quality Bluetooth codec support, though.
The Liberate Air will be available in July for $149.99.
Exodus and Exodus ANC
House of Marley Each ear cup houses a 50mm dynamic driver beneath the memory foam ear pads.
These wireless over-ear headphones share a host of similarities including a 30-hour playback time, 50mm dynamic drivers, and a variety of eco-conscious materials including recycled aluminum and FSC certified wood. Both include memory foam ear pads and sport a foldable design, ideal for travel.
The House of Marley Exodus ANC differentiates itself with noise canceling capabilities. When noise canceling is activated, listeners will enjoy up to 24 hours of playback. When it’s off, battery life increases to 40 hours.
The Exodus headphones will be available in March for $199.99, and the Exodus ANC will be available in September for $249.99.
Ultimately, the decision to debut a smart speaker is — well — smart. Smart homes are becoming more ubiquitous, almost mundane, and House of Marley aims to keep with the times. Although its true wireless earbuds seem to resemble the Sol Republic Amps Air, the extended playback time is promising.
