Latest Pocophone F1 update brings 960fps video recording and more

The global stable version of MIUI 10.2.2.0 is rolling out now to the Xiaomi Pocophone F1. The update comes several weeks after Xiaomi released Android 9 Pie for the affordable smartphone.

The update introduces 960fps slow-motion video recording. The Pocophone F1 currently supports 120fps and 240fps slow-motion video recording, so the third setting is a welcome inclusion.

However, the changelog doesn’t state the resolution of the 960fps videos. The Samsung Galaxy S9 and Sony Xperia XZ3 also support 960fps video recording at 720p and 1080p resolutions, respectively.

MIUI 10.2.2.0 also includes an enhanced low-light mode for those nighttime shots and bumps the security patch level up to December 1, 2018. The Pocophone F1 is a bit behind in that regard since the January 2019 security patch is available now.

Lastly, Pocophone global head Alvin Tse said the update includes “a bunch of fixes.” They do not yet include a fix for the touch response issue that some Pocophone F1 owners reported.

That said, Tse said an update in February will include touch optimizations. The Pocophone F1 will also get support for 4K video recording at 60fps and a fix for the reported battery drain issue in February.

MIUI 10.2.2.0 is rolling out to the Pocophone F1 over the next few days.
