This week in Android: Huawei is in hot water
We could pretend there was another top story this week, but that would be ridiculous. Huawei is in trouble, as the United States has formally indicted the company and its CFO with 13 different counts. These charges include money laundering, obstruction of justice, and sanction violations. Meng is currently awaiting extradition to the United States to face these charges, and China has responded. Huawei is kind of a big deal in China, which means it’s a big deal for the U.S.
In other news, Meizu and Vivo are both looking to bring buttonless and portless phones to the masses. We’re not so sure that’s a good idea, but Apple seems to be leaning that way as well. Frankly, that scares us — we all know what happens when Apple does something drastic in the smartphone market.
Meanwhile, Facebook is in trouble with Apple, Apple is in trouble with investors, and Xiaomi is in trouble because of Samsung.
Here are your top stories for the week
